Releases in September

Hi!

Here are some book ideas for September.

What's Left of Me (The Hybrid Chronicles, #1)Kat Zhang - What's left of me
I just read the short description and just wow. I really really want to read this story. The short description is intriguing and... . I'm just speechless at the moment.
I would say read the short description for yourself and you will know what I'm talking about.

The Raven Boys (Raven Cycle, #1)Magie Stiefvater - The raven boys
We all know her from Shiver and know she has a new book series. I have to admit I haven't read Shiver yet, it's still standing on my to read shelf. But one day I will read shiver and The raven boys, 'cause the short description is promising.

Burn for BurnJenny Han & Siobhan Vivian - Burn for Burn
Two authors, one book a bit weird. But I'm willing to give it a shot. As I read the short description it's going to be full of bitchfights, and I love drama. It also intrigues me a bit, I would like to know what exactly happened to Lillia four years ago. So it's definitely standing on my to read list.

Blink OnceCylin Busby - Blink once
I actually requested an ARC for this book, but didn't get it. It's really a shame, because I know I would loved loved this book. So I'll and am going to buy it then. Because this book is going to be amazing, I just can sense it!

The Diviners (The Diviners, #1)

Libba Bray - The Diviners
I have read The Gemma Doyle Trilogy and since then I'm hooked. So I assume that this book won't disappoint me. Can't wait to get it in my hands!

Teaser Tuesday #5 - How to ruin my boyfriend's reputation by Simone Elkeles

Hi!

I know it's been a while since my last post but I'm extremely busy at the moment. And I will try to catch up with my reviews as soon as possible. But in the meantime here is this week's teaser from How to ruin my boyfriend's reputation by Simone Elkeles (btw it's a great serie)

Since Avi left Chicago, I haven't thought of anyone else. I haven't been remotely interested in another guy because I know he's The One. He said we were going to be together forever, that he wanted to marry me one day. I believed him, which makes me the dummy.

I'd like you to know that this is my sucking it up. Pre-army Amy woul definitely be whinning Aba, they make us get up before the sun is up, and run in the dark, and pee and poop in stinky holes, and sleep with our guns, and eat jam with bees in it, and do boy pushups, and march in straight lines, and scale walls, and sleep in beds with springs missing above our heads and dig holes with big hairy spiders in them...
... but I don't.

Pushing the Limits - Katie McGarry

Hi!

This week I have read an amazing book, Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry, so here's my review of it.

Short discription
Pushing the LimitsNo one knows what happened the night Echo Emerson went from popular girl with jock boyfriend to gossiped-about outsider with "freaky" scars on her arms. Even Echo can't remember the whole truth of that horrible night. All she knows is that she wants everything to go back to normal. But when Noah Hutchins, the smoking-hot, girl-using loner in the black lether jacket, explodes into her life with his tough attituede and suprising understanding, Echo's world shifts in ways she could never have imagined. They should have nothing in common. And with the secrets they both keep, being together is pretty much impossible.
Yet the crazy attraction between them refuses to go away. And Echo has to ask herself just how far they can push the limits and what she'll risk for the guy who might teach her how to love again.

My opinion
Where to start whit this review? I don’t know, the book was just AMAZING. I loved it from the very first letter to the last. It made me laugh, cry, angry, excited, touched….
The way Katie McGarry wrote the story of Noah and Echo was very compelling. When I was reading the book I couldn’t put it down, It was just impossible. The love between Echo and Noah, I can only say that I will find a boy like that someday.
Echo is definitely a character I love, the way she copes with her past in the end, her loyalty and how she wants to please everyone, though it’s not always a good thing. The way she can handle Noah like no one  else can and let him feel again like he once was was really great to read. And then of course her witty remarks, they were hilarious. The way she painted to show her view on the world was lovely, I really liked that aspect of the book.
Noah is a whole different character than Echo. But the moment I met him I fell in love with him. He’s gorgeous, hot, handsome, good looking and did I already mention HOT (ok I did, but I had to say it twice).  On top of that he’s funny, loyal to his friends and his family and he only wants the best for the people he loves. At the start of the story he had lost the right pat, but thanks to Echo he found it again. He also helped Echo a lot of course with regaining her memories. How he stood by her side every time was just… I don’t have even words for it.
And then there is the story behind the lives of Echo and Noah. I loved it that it was just like you were Echo, you discovered in bits what happened to here, just as she did. And let’s be honest,  I wouldn’t like to be in her shoes. To lose so much in such a short time and that while you should feel safe at home, not scared.
Like Echo, Noah also lost a lot in his life. The only thing that’s left are his two little brothers, which he hardly gets to see. Every time he tried to help someone he got punished for it. But that all changed the day he really met Echo. She’s the one who believed in him and led him in the right direction.
But then there were also some minor min points. The book was a bit predictable, you knew from the beginning how the story would end. But how the storyline was put together really made that up. Another thing I was a bit disappointed about was that, even when it was Noah’s perspective, the story was mainly focused on Echo. I would have loved to read more about Noah’s past.

Cover
I really like the cover of this book. It's simple, but it fits the book very well!

Teaser Tuesday #4 - The Golden Lily by Richelle Mead

Hi!

The teaser of this week is form The Golden Lily by Richelle Mead. I picked this book because today (or yesterday) the first chapter of TheIndigo Spell is released. You can find the first chapter here: First chapter The Indigo Spell.

Since I'd flown out of Palm Springs yesterday, I'd actuaaly been thinking a lot about the group I'd left behind - when the Alchemists weren't distracting me with prisoners, of course. Jill, Adrian, Eddie and even Angeline... frustrating at times, but in the end, they were people I'd grown to know and care about. Despite all the running around they mad me do, I'd missed that motley group almost the instant I left California. Something inside me seemed empty when they weren't around.

Forbidden love

Hi!

In many YA books you can find forbidden love and well I'm a sucker for it. Sometimes it's sad, but most of the time the chemistry between those characters is huge and that's why I love it so much!
So here is a list with some lovely couples who actually shouldn't love each other.
(This page may contain spoilers)

Bella & Edward - Twilight saga
The most famous couple of all time. But a human and a vampire shouldn't love each other, still I am glad they do!

Gemma & Kartik - Gemma Doyle trilogy
Kartik is an Indian boy. It wouldn't be a problem now but if you live in the nineteenth century, like the British Gemma, it's a huge problem. Still Kartik and Gemma are made for each other. If you want to know how there story ends you have to read the books (which are great!).

Wanda & Ian - The Host
Another book by Stephenie Meyer. This time it insn't a vampire and a human but a parasite in the body of a girl and a normal guy. And what would you do if you fell in love with the enemy of humanity?

Rose & Dimitri - Vampire Academy
In this book the love between the characters is HUGE, but it is also forbidden. Firstly Dimitri is seven years older than Rose and he doesn't like the age gap between them even though Rose is very mature (most of the time). Secondly he's Rose mentor/tutor and that kind of relationship is always wrong. And thirdly they both protect the Moroi and while they are toghether they are maybe not able to carry out there jobs like they are supposed to. But what can you do against sucha love?

Wilow & Alex - Angel
Alex is an angelkiller and Wilow is an (half)angel. But is it enough for Alex for not killing her? Read and you will find out!

Felicity (Fee) & Pippa (Pip) - Gemma Doyl trilogy
Fee and Pip are both girls and in the nineteenth century it was forbidden. You could not even talk about it!

Rose & Adrian - Vampire Academy
Rose is a pro in loving people when she isn't allowed to. This time she likes Adrian and well Adrian is a HOT Moroi. In the world of Vampires a relantionship between a Dhampire and a Moroi is weird and a bit vulgar. And if that Moroi is accidently a nephew of the queen... you don't want to know then what happens next.

Luce & Daniel - Fallen
Daniel is a fallen angel and Luce is a just mortal. But is she? She isn't just a girl that Daniel likes. No, she is the love of his live. But every time that Daniel and Luce meet and kiss, Luce will go up in flames and reappear after decades. So what will they do about it?

Bella & Jacob - Twilight saga
They were never porperly together but they did love each other. So there are two reasons why they can't be with each other:
1. Bella is happy with Edward
2. Jacob is a werewolf

Nora & Patch - Hush, Hush
Nora is a normal teenage girl and Patch, her mistery classmate, is a fallen angel. We are used to all those weird relationships now, but what if your boyfriends original plan was to kill you?

Renesmee & Jacob - Twilight saga
As we all now Jaco did love her mother, Bella, what is really weird. But then he loves a baby girl, it's a bit pervert. Lucky for him that he has honest intensions or I would kick his ass. And then there is another huge problem Renesmee is a vampire, or at least for a big part, and Jacob is a werewolf. And as you know werewolfs and vampires are each others archenemies!

Meghan & Ash - The Iron Fey
Meghan always thought that she was just an ordinary girl. She couldn't be more wrong because she's the only daughter of Lord Oberon, the king of the Summer fey. And then she meets Ash, the beautiful but ice cold Winter prince. And as you can guess Winter and Summer are not allowed to love each other, they are even not allowed to like each other. Like that isn't enough trouble Ash is still troubled by the death of his former girlfriend who passed away decades ago...

Sydney & Adrian - Bloodlines
Sydney is an alchemist and from very young she is thougth  that vampires are evil, that they are not natural. She holds on to this believes till she meets Rose (from Vampire Academy), she begins to doubt everything she has ever believed in. And then Sydney meets Adrian Ivashkov. Will she hold on to her beliefs or will her heart win for once?

There are still many more I can add but these are some of my favorites.

Forbidden love, nothing's allowed
Senses are shut, feelings are barred
Scarifying is sin, giving is crime
Never come near not even try,

Hurting, burning, making you cry
Avoid it leave it behind
don't say the words
Not to yourself, nor aloud,

Putting you aside, with what do I start?
My heart or my mind?"
Trying to but I can't
because you're with me day and night,

God, give me strength; give me time
to stop what considered not right
for I never knew that love
could be forbidden for some hearts.

Vampire Academy - Richelle Mead

Hi!
This is the first review I post on this blog and this is one about my favorit series: Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead.

Short discription
St. Vladimir's Academy isn't just any boarding school - it's a hidden place where vampires are educated in the ways of magic and half-human teens train to protect them. Rose Hathaway is a Dhampir, a bodyguard for her best friend Lissa, a Moroi Vampire Princess. They've been on the run, but now they're being dragged back to St. Vladimir's - the very place where they're most in danger... Rose and Lissa become enmeshed in forbidden romance, the Academy's ruthless social scene, and unspeakable nighttime rituals. But they must be careful lest the Strigoi - the world's fiercest and most dangerous vampires - make Lissa one of them forever.

My opinion
Like I said before, this is my all time favorit series. It's an adiction to me! The books are very well written and it's not the cliché vampire book (human falls in love with vampire). Richelle Mead has also used another myth for her books, a Russian myth and that's what makes the books so different from others. Another positive thing in the series is the action, in every book there are multiple scenes with battles between Strigoi and Dhampir. So the books will never bore you. And then there is the love between some characters is so great that you wish that it was real.
Richelle Mead has made the characters of the books also very attractive. The main character, Rose, is everything and more of what I expect off a character. She is loyal to the people she loves, she knows her duties, she can kick some asses and her sarcasm is hilarious! Lisa the best friend of Rose is also very strong in her own way and she only sees the good in people. And then you have Dimitri Belikov, I don't know where to start with him... Rose describes him as a god and when you start reading the book you can see why. He's amazingly strong, handsome, protective, sweet, cute... Need I say more? In the second book another great character is introduced: Adrian Ivashkov. He likes to flirt with the ladies, but when you get to know him he's very sweet and loyal. And ofcourse he's HOT!
So in short: the plot is great, the characters are lovely and you can loose yourself in the books. What do you want more?

Cover
This series has many differnt covers, but personally I prefer the red ones above the one with a picture on it. They are simple and to the point.
Which one do your prefere?
